Why Do We
Tue 21st Jul 2026
Why do we
Strike our brothers like this?
Fall for their guns and sticks?
Clap for propaganda more than peace
Force the Njinikedjom roads to cease?
Welcome fear into our midst?
Burn our own brothers like this?
Rape our sisters and mothers like this?
Turn our homes to dust and grief?
And still deny our people peace?
Why do we
Make children sleep to gunshots?
Leave classrooms empty and shut?
Turn mothers into widows overnight?
Force fathers to flee in fright?
Watch our people beg for bread,
This morning it was Sandrine, drugged and raped like trash.... I ask why?
Count the missing and the dead?
Have we forgotten we were brothers?
That this same soil belongs to us together?
Must the North West and South West bleed forever?
While the cries of our people rise like weather?
Tell me...
When did blood become cheaper than peace?
